EcoFactor’s solution operates with off-the-shelf hardware and is hosted on-demand so there is no software to install or maintain. Other solutions require expensive thermostats, costly hardware that needs to be updated regularly, and manual updates for new features.

The system calculates each home’s individual thermal characteristics, or “dynamic signature,” using existing hardware such as a two-way communicating thermostat and/or a gateway device to a broadband Internet connection. With each home’s dynamic signature, EcoFactor learns how much energy is required to heat and cool the home.

EcoFactor’s HVAC EKG solution detects degradations in HVAC systems as well as any change in the structure’s thermal performance over time and compares those results between like houses to offer best practices to the homeowner. These diagnostics also help energy service providers reduce operating costs and provide key insights to increase customer value.
